Malo Girod de l'Ain is an entrepreneur passionate with new technologies and with the evolution of the world.
Early adopter of the Internet, he directed since 1995 the development of many online sucessfull services from finance to cheese with a forte in movies.
Innovating entrepreneur during the "Internet bubble" and afterwards, he drew from it many of his intuitions and theories on our future. He is "assisted" by the thousands of people around the world who read, seek, sort, analyze all information available and publish them in articles, syntheses... daily, weekly, monthly... Moreover the web provide access to the research centers of many companies and to numerous scientific publications of all natures.
Malo Girod of Ain analyses the main topics of our future in his books and novels and also takes part in futurology works to implement in a concrete way the concepts, ideas and products developed.
He started his career in New York and then in Paris as a management and technology consultant. Malo Girod de l'Ain has then created and managed numerous companies in Paris, San Francisco and Sao Paulo including a software tools editor and a venture capital company.

New Africa 2010
- 2010
In 2010, a combination of factors including; the greenhouse effect and pollution lead to global warming, so that drastic action had to be taken.
Under the convention governed by the UN many commissioners and expert groups studied the issue in the whole world. The most diverse solutions were discussed to stop the process. After much calculation and enquiry, decisions were made to install huge mirrors to send back the light of the sun to diminish the terrible ambient heat. The surfaces to install were of considerable size, where to find them? The choice was then made: half of Africa had to be covered (at least). The least inhabited regions and the most uninhabitable would be chosen and in particular the largest portion of the Sahara.
This operation required the strength of Hercules, and this Marshall Plan on the planetary level was planned, launched and executed amidst many debates, riots and trials. The construction area of unequaled size excited the whole world who, followed the development day by day.
- 2050
Half of Africa has been under the panels for 30 years. The Africans baptized it �Ground-ground�, nobody knows why any more. The panels are installed at an average height of 1.5 meter and like for all averages this means that 50% are installed lower and 50% higher offering in this way huge living spaces shelter from the sun. Moreover, a slight breeze blows in a continuous way from the east to the west because of the earth�s rotation. Ground-ground has become the habitable living and working place in the middle of the ambient furnace.
In the rest of the world, desolation reigns, the cultures die, they are barren, climatisation systems become extremely rare because of a lack of energy. Humans flee to the deep caverns that have remained cool.
In the heart of Ground-ground Sahara City becomes the first city in the world. Dynamic expansion, wealth, Ground-ground attracts the inhabitants of all the planets. The immigration from the rest of the world to Sahara City is considerable. All the humans are looking to escape to the coolness and wealth it offers. Strict controls are installed, but the immigrant�s arrive continually and the surfaces to control are considerable.
- 2100
Younger generations can�t stand any more to live under the panels of Ground-ground. Students are revolting. The Sahara City University is leading the fight to eradicate the panels which are compared to the horrors of the Berlin Wall in the last century. The first panels begin to fall, students are celebrating joined by the majority of workers who cannot stand the presence of the panels either. They have to be de-smelted with an electric arc. The work is hard but everybody takes part in the crazy ambiance. Soon half of the panels are fallen. The president elected by the Au,( Africa United) Mbasor Tsounouba exclaimed from his octagonal office �My God, forgive them, they know not what they do�.

Time Traveller
Hello,
I'm a time traveler stuck here in 2003. Upon arriving here my dimensional warp generator stopped working. I trusted a company here by the name of LLC Lasers to repair my Generation 3 52 4350A watch unit, and they fled on me. I am going to need a new DWG unit, prefereably the rechargeable AMD wrist watch model with the GRC79 induction motor, four I80200 warp stabilizers, 512GB of SRAM and the menu driven GUI with front panel XID display.
I will take whatever model you have in stock, as long as its received certification for being safe on carbon based life forms.
In terms of payment: I dont have any Galactic Credits left. Payment can be made in platinum gold or 2003 currency upon safe delivery of unit.

Sparkling or non sparkling water: you choose at drinking time
For centuries, one of the important questions asked in restaurants around the world is always the same one: Sparkling or non sparkling water? Same question during family meals, between friends... The drinkers often divide between these two choices. Great existential debates animate the meals to determine the intrinsic values or morals values of those waters.
The drinkers of sparkling water seek the supreme pleasure of strong feelings and scorn the non sparkling water drinkers, small human beings forever unable to reach that level of pleasure.
On the otherside, the drinkers of non sparkling water enjoy the communion with the pure and original element, spring water, quiet and reinshuring force. They scorn the quite superficial sparkling water drinkers.
Others, maybe less extreme, choose according to their moods, to the mood of their entourage or drink simply what is on the table. Fortunately, we are no longer there.
- 2010 : the new water Nano Water 2.0
In 2010, progress of the nanotechnologies finally made it possible to make this question obsolete with the development of a water which is... sparkling and non sparkling at the same time and changes according to the drinker's choice: Nano Water.
The water is delivered as a slightly viscous transparent liquid, almost like oil. The drinker chooses to transform it into his preferred water with an optimal quantity of bubbles by a simple action on his Palm, his PDA or his mobile phone. What a progress! The drinker can thus determine the number of bubbles, their size, their speed... thanks to this new version 2.0.
It is true that the first version, the 1.0, had experienced some problems. Version 1 only made it possible to choose the quantity of bubble what was too limited for really satisfying todays demanding consumers. Moreover, some incidents had ruined the launch of this Nano Water 1.0 among drinkers equipped with older PDAs which incorrectly did not limit the number of bubbles. Many cases of luxated or broken jaws had been deplored. Moreover, it was necessary to buy a compatible water version either with your Palm, your PDA or your mobile phone. You found yourselve quickly with four incompatible water bottles on your table!
Fortunately, the new version 2.0 is known as universal: it can be at the same time controlled by infra-red, bluetooth, Wifi or XML, so really by all your usual devices. You are thus ensured to taste your ideal water in all circumstances. Enjoy your drinking.

The Main Characters
Among the main characters, a group of talented hackers leaded by Angef (Angel Face) investigates. They surf skillfully among their enemies, closely watched by a group of mercenaries, supervised by the secret service quite puzzled by the events.
The intelligence of the Group, its knowledge of the networks protect it from its enemies. They play with the latest innovations and let us participate. We live with them and discover the new situations and the new rules they have to invent.
Among the characters, May, the young Chinese coming from her rural province in the center of China is astonished by all the innovations of the world of tomorrow that she discovers with us. Vipi, the mascot of the Group, takes an active part with humor at the everyday life of the Group and all its adventures.
The network and the virtual have also a direct part in the adventures in very different forms. The network, sometimes called the Sphere, mysterious entity, surprising, is sometimes useful tool, sometimes unforeseeable enemy. The HOD (Hack Or Die) the most exclusive online world ot the time is sometime among allies sometime terrible enemy. Most of the characters master, with varying talents, the Multi-Universe, the navigation between various virtual Universes.

Pitof and 2010 Virtual Futur
Pitof and Malo Girod de l'Ain work together since more than one year on the development of the project, the writing of the scenario of the first film, the concept of the TV series and on the creation of Virtual Script, the global tool for characters analysis and visualization, characters interactions...
Pitof is the director of VIDOCQ released in 2001, first film ever to be shot in high definition digital cinema. Vidocq, in addition to its popular success, received many international awards. Lately, Pitof directed Catwoman for Warner Bros. with Halle Berry as Catwoman and Sharon Stone, Lambert Wilson...
Pitof starts his career in 1979 as an assistant director and film editor on advertising films, corporate films and feature films. Pioneer of the digital images in France, he enters the world of special effects in 1986 working on advertisings and video clips for the most famous directors. He also participates in the creation of tv channels design. After 1990, Pitof opens the way of the numerical cinema in France as a director of special effects for feature films (namely Delicatessen, the Visitors, the City of the Lost Children, Alien: Resurrection, the story of Joan of Arc, Asterix and Obelix vs. Cesar...).
The Saga's Theme
As current research demonstrates it, we live one period of strong acceleration of change in every field from technology to society. The consequences of these changes will be major. Which will be the consequences? Can we start to understand them already? These are some of the questions which the Saga 2010 proposes to analyze while entertaining us.
We thought that our grandparents who had lived the discovery of cars, electricity, television... had lived through incredible changes during their life. This is nothing in comparison of what awaits us!
In less than six years, the Internet evolved from obscure technological product to leading work environment and information media worldwide. Our way of life and our way of thinking evolves even more than the technological developments.
For the first time in the history of mankind, we have the solid theoretical bases to predict the outline of evolutions to come. Let us use this and look in front of us. The Saga proposes to bring us there with entertaining images.
Vexism
In the middle of the strong current evolutions, a new trend arrises: Vexism or Virtual Existentialism. Described more in-depth in the book the 2010 the virtual era, Vexism defines a new philosophy, a new way of life.
Between freedom and constraints, how will it be tomorrow? Won't the new virtual Universes offer new freedoms? Gradually, following the technological innovations, the expansion of creativity in video games, the online games... will it make it possible to create, to discover new internal languages, the myths and legends of tomorrow, bases of new entertainment and new evolutions? Or will we go even further, towards a new existentialism?
How to define Vexism? Freedom, pleasure, speed, intensity, variation, extreme, virtual, new Universes... are among the words able to explain it. Some images might help us better understand Vexism. We could represent our existence by a large steamer travelling the oceans with its strong inertia. A change of direction takes a long time to implement, acceleration and braking also. They are the constraints of our habits, our structures, our sociocultural environment which force our own evolution to be set between certain acceptable limits and at a moderate pace.
On the contrary, in the virtual Universes, our existence would rather be represented by a Formula 1 with striking accelerations, impressive braking capabilities. Furthermore, we can choose to have fifty Formula 1 or, on the opposite, one second later, we can walk quietly along a suny small road to listen to the singing birds. We are entirely free of our choices, of our existence, well almost free as our choices are still dictated by our conscienciousness with its habits and structures. Vexism, Virtual Existentialism, shows that these new Universes will widely increase the freedom of each of us. Till where will we dare explore?
